What is "select" baseball?
Select teams are made up of kids that are hand-picked - not drafted - to play in weekend tournaments and regular games against other select teams. This is in contrast to recreational baseball where kids register, tryout and then get drafted by a coach to play on a team. Kids that apply for select baseball are not guaranteed a spot on a team by simply registering and the level of play is typically higher than recreational baseball because there is a sense of competition for the 12 open spots on each select team.

What is the time frame for this Spring?

• Now through January 25 - Annoucements will be made via the website and e-mail notifying people which teams will be holding open practices and tryouts during the upcoming weeks of December and January.
• January 26-31 - Announcements will be made to notify families if one of their athletes has been selected for a team, or not, so that there is still time to register for other local area recreational teams (Town and Country, LCP, NWALL, etc.)
• February 1 - Practices start!
• March - Games start!

What is the cost and what is included?
Applying and trying out is absolutely free. If a player is selected for a team, expenses will vary depending on the specific needs of the team (professional coaching, number of tournaments, uniform costs, etc.) but a budget of ~$100 per month (depending on the individual needs of each team) for coaching, tournaments, unforms and misc. costs should be expected. The cost for this level of baseball is very reasonable when you consider the other select baseball leagues in our area.

Partnership with Professional Instructors!
One key element that will differentiate Four Points Baseball from other area select baseball organizations is it's partnership with several different professional instructors in the area. This will enable the select teams to have access to quality instructors based upon the individual needs of the team. These partnerships also provide relationships with indoor practice facilities to allow teams to practice early in the year and in the evening.
